BioWithin every individual’s life, there are moments that clearly define one’s inner essence. Singer/songwriter/conductor, Jolene Anderson Riley reflects upon the dreams that have been part of the visual in her life. Sprinkled throughout her music, these dreams have played an integral part of the whole picture. Her journey has brought her to a place where she feels whole. This has also brought with it a new desire; to help others reach that same place. Thus, her new venture, Voice the Dream, has been birthed and is now at the forefront of her musical journey.
Voice the Dream came out of a desire to serve others where they are in their life... helping them to rediscover that long forgotten dream, to help them locate it and bring it to the center of their lives and live it out loud. Jolene Riley relishes the task of showing others that they possess significance no matter who they are, where they’ve been or where they currently find themselves. Jolene casts a shadow of a gentle giant who has been on her own journey. She reaches out with hands that have ‘been there’ to envelop those who find themselves on rutted roads. “We are all composers in life," exclaims Jolene. “My goal is to help others visualize, voice and venture their dream. Write the song, sing it loud....make your God-given melody count.”
Jolene Riley has a Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California in Choral Conducting. She has served as a choral conductor, musical director and vocal music teacher in South Orange County and North San Diego County and has performed in a variety of events as a mezzo soprano soloist. Jolene has two grown sons, raising them mostly as a single mom. She has also been very active in assisting single moms. With all of that being said, this compassionate, yet driven woman revels in the simple fact that she has never been alone. Her eyes and heart are set on the strength that she finds with God. As a result, Jolene is on a mission to find those who are in need and then become an advocate standing for them. Her ministry with women is close to her heart. Walking each of them through the door to open hope has been become more than a passion, it is part of the very breath that she takes. Jolene Riley visits single moms and brings the reality of hope for tomorrow. She assures them they are not alone. Her message delivers a visual and heart-filled awareness of a picture of peace that they were not able to grasp prior to discovering the door of hope in their own lives.
Through the many journeys in her life, Jolene Riley speaks and sings with compelling sensitivity. Jolene does not call herself a hero, but an advocate who shares compassion. Music is the way in which to do this. “A few years ago, my Dad told me that he was watching a Pastor on TV talk about Habakkuk 2:2-3 and told me that he thought the verse was for me. And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This visionmessage is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time," exclaims Jolene. This is the message at the starting line. This is where voicing the dream begins.
Jolene has two albums on shelves nationwide; Journeyin’ On and The Open Door. The music plays on though, in her mind and in her heart. Jolene Riley knows that her work has just begun. Her music and passion carries with it a reflection of the One sketched onto the core of her life. She invites you to meet God through the door to open hope and to Voice the Dream along with her.
